Hello Spring Semester...

Day One and I'm already swamped with homework. Fabulous. Of course, I don't have an of my books yet so completing said homework should be interesting. My classes don't seem like they're going to be terrible but I'm not particularly excited about any of them. I only have one class tomorrow but hopefully it'll be interesting, otherwise it could be a very long semester. Tomorrow also marks the first day of lacrosse season. Am I excited? Nope. It's really only because we have to run three miles. Seeing as I've been a bit of a bum this break, I have a feeling it may be a bit of a struggle. I'll be sure to post about it, if I survive that is.

Life Post Braces...

is not all it's cracked up to be. It's hard to be excited about being brace-less when you have to wear a mouthguard and can't even go out in public. I don't want to gross anyone out but, I've found that mouthguard + sleep= drool central. I know, disgusting. I've turned into Drooly-Pants Magee. Not cool. Today also marks the begin of the one week countdown until lacrosse season. I should be excited. To be honest I'm kind of freaking out. Firstly, I'm not in shape at all and have no clue how I'm going to run midfield for an entire game. Secondly, I'm slightly terrified I'm going to play awful. I had a really strong season last year on top of being the little sister of one of the best players in the school's history. Needless to say there's some serious pressure to meet expectations. Luckily, I have an awesome team who are beyond supportive and somehow manage to keep me sane. The only really positive thing about today was that I got to talk to my big brother! I was really excited to hear that he is going to be home in March! This is his last deployment (thank God) and I'm thoroughly pumped to have him back home.

Lastly, I want to wish a happy 21st to my sister in law (sash monster?!?). I hope it's a good one!

Is This Real Life?!?!?

I GOT MY BRACES OFF TODAY!! Naturally, the first thing I did when I got home was sit down and start blogging. I got my awful wonderful mouthguard and it's not quite as terrible as I had imagined. The biggest drawback is probably the taste. You know the smell of melted plastic? Well imagine what that tastes like. Gross. Still, I'm sure it'll be worth it. I was thoroughly excited to see that i don't have a weird gum to teeth ratio. I look at least 16 now! (Hey, it's better than 12) Anyway, I promised pictures so here they are:
So this is with the mouthguard. It doesn't even come close to doing it justice. It looks completely ridiculous in real life.

This is Facebook...

Not Myspace. And not 2004. So, stop taking pictures of yourself. It is no longer the days where it's cool to have a profile picture that is you posing in a mirror using your "baller" new flip phone. Granted, there is some room for exceptions. You injured yourself and it looks bad ass? Go ahead, take a picture. You're overly excited about a new haircut/dye? Still a little stupid, but go for it. I think what bothers me most is when people clearly sit around their house and put on makeup and their cutest outfit and proceed to have a photo shoot. Then, they post the pictures to Facebook and talk about how ugly they are. Clearly you think you're hideous since you're posting all of these pictures of yourself. Not. Stop fishing for compliments, it's annoying. What really bothers me is that people feel the need to do this in order to feel good about themselves. I've never found that self confidence has come from how many likes I get on a particular photo. Nor have I ever judged the quality of my friends over whether or not they comment on my pictures and tell me how beautiful I am. I know all people feel gratified by different things but I think it's about time you retire the mirror picture and join the rest of us in 2012.

Holy Crap...

This time next I will be braces free!! Granted I will also have a sweet new mouth guard but, still, no braces. No worries, I will be sure to post a quality picture. In terms of the past two days I haven't really done much. I worked today but haven't studied (again, procrastination). I was, however, struck with a -somewhat- harsh reality. In two weeks I will be starting spring semester (and lacrosse season!!). So, big deal it's just a new semester. The fact of the matter is, though, it is the final semester of my third year. After this year, I will have only two more semesters of college and then I will be faced with either grad. school or the real world. Both are equally terrifying. I don't think it would be nearly as intimidating if this semester wasn't going to be so hard. Of course, I made the brilliant decision to take 5 courses, 3 of which are some of the most difficult English classes I will take in completing my major. On top of that I will be studying for the LSAT, all during lacrosse season. Awesome. I suppose I asked for it though and can't complain. Thankfully, I have wonderful teammates and roommates who are incredibly supportive and helpful. I'm sure I'll survive, whether or not I'll make it out with my sanity...now that is debatable.

I'm An Even Bigger Failure...

So, I haven't posted in well over a month. Fail. I don't really have a good excuse, I pretty much just forgot. Since  my last post I took my finals and had my birthday. Lauren and Stink came home for Christmas and left just before New Year's. It would be impossible for me to recount everything that's happened. To sum it up, the holidays went well, nothing too exciting to report (although I did get diamonds from Tim, he knows me too well). Now, the holidays are over and it's just boring winter break. I know what you're thinking, I'm in college and it's break, clearly I've been out raging my life away. Wrong. My life has been taken over by studying. I've now resorted to doing Logic Games when I can't sleep. It's actually kind of sad. Yesterday, though, was Tim's 21st birthday (such an old man!) so we went to a house party. Of course, it was "White Trash" themed. It was quite a challenge coming up with anything in my wardrobe that could be considered "trashy" but I managed to pull it off (sort of). That is the extent of my winter break partying. I should probably be preparing for Lacrosse season but, to be honest, I've been incredibly lazy and have only ran maybe 3 times. I don't really have much planned for the rest of break, aside from getting my braces off (8 dayss!!!) and Polar Bear Plunge on the 28th. So, to help get everything caught up here are a few pictures from the past month:

Mom got a puppy for Christmas and she decided to take Rommel for a walk.
